AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak committee will organise scholarships distribution function at gurdwara Manji Sahib within Golden Temple complex here on June 17 at two pm. SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur will distribute scholarship cheques to students.
This was disclosed by a spokesman SGPC in a press release here today.
He said that 50, 000 students participated in the religious examination conducted during the annual examination spokesman said a total of 990 students who appeared in the religious examination secured scholarships in the categories including first (Class VIII & IX), second (Class XI & XII), third (graduate) and fourth (postgraduate).
Also, a total of 17 students have secured first, second and third positions with excellent performance in these categories. Kulwinder Singh said, "The students listed in the merit would be distributed the scholarships by the SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur .
The students in merit will be distributed scholarship amounts of Rs 5, 100, Rs 4, 100, and Rs 3, 100 respectively and would be honoured with mementoes."
He said that the principals and teachers of religious studies of those schools and colleges would also be honoured which performed excellently.
Similarly, in all four categories, the students except the meritorious ones, who secured more than 70% marks would be distributed scholarships amounts of Rs 1, 100, Rs 2, 100, Rs 3, 100 and Rs 4, 100, to boost their confidence.
