AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee will send a Jatha of Singh devotees in November to celebrate the birth anniversary of the first Guru Nanak Dev at Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib, Pakistan.
In this regard, SGPC had started the visa process and demanded passports from the pilgrims till August 15, 2021, which has now been extended to August 25, 2021.
Disclosing this here today Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Chief Secretary, SGPC said that under the Haryana state quota, pilgrims can send their passports to the Shiromani Committee's sub-office in Kurukshetra, Haryana.
SGPC would send a contingent of Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan on the occasion of Guru Nanak's birth anniversary., he added.
He said that the devotees who want to visit Gurdwara Prakash Asthan Sri Nankana Sahib and other shrines in Pakistan on this auspicious occasion should send their passports along with the recommendation of the constituency members of the Shiromani Committee to the Yatra department at the Shiromani Committee office.
He informed that it was mandatory for the pilgrims to attach a photocopy of Aadhaar card, voter card or ration card along with their passport as proof of identity.
The Chief Secretary appealed to the Sangat to submit their passports and documents to the SGPC in time so that further action could be taken to complete the visa process.
The Chief Secretary of the SGPC said that this time under the direction of SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur for the convenience of the pilgrims of Haryana, the SGPC was providing services in Kurukshetra for the submission of passports.
