SGPC President strongly condemned deadly attack on SGPC employees who went to plow the land of Gurdwara Sri Guru Granth Sahib Dharamshala Bilaspur

AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today strongly condemned the deadly attack by some people on the employees of the Shiromani Committee who went to plow the land of Gurdwara Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Dharamshala Bilaspur belonging to Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Kottan (Ludhiana) and demanded Strict against the accused.

Advocate Dhami said that the SGPC was an elected religious organization of Sikhs, which manage the gurdwara arrangements as well as the land property of the gurdwaras according to the Sikh Gurdwara Act 1925.

He said that those who attacked Shiromani Committee employees at Gurdwara Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Dharamshala Bilaspur (Ludhiana) should not be spared in any way.

Advocate Dhami demanded the government and the police administration to take appropriate legal action against the culprits and said that the government also has a duty to take strict action against those who interfere in the arrangements of Guru Ghars.

He expressed sympathy with the injured employees and said that the Shiromani Committee will support them in every way and their treatment will also be arranged.

Giving information in this regard, Secretary of the Shiromani Committee, Pratap Singh said that the cases related to the land of Gurdwara Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Dharamshala Bilaspur have been in favor of the Shiromani Committee from different courts and in 2010 the intervention of the Shiromani Committee has also been received, while some people are in favor of the Gurdwara Sahib. They want to grab the land.

He said that today when the Shiromani Committee employees were plowing the heritage land of the Guru Ghar peacefully, more than 30 people attacked them in a hooligan manner. In this attack, two officials of the secretary level of the Shiromani Committee and about 15 other employees have received serious injuries, who have been admitted to the hospital.

He said that the assailants had made petrol bombs in defiance of the law, with which they attempted to burn the employees and vehicles.
