AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has decided to hold a prayer ceremony to pay homage and respect to Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunke on January 1.
Giving information SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami said that that the nation can never forget the Sikh Genocide of 1984 and the subsequent decade of government atrocities on the Sikhs. During this period, the murder of Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunke was part of the brutal anti-Sikh campaign.
He said that the current report about this murder exposes government torture against Sikhs.
The Shiromani Committee President appealed to the Sikh Panth to join this prayer function being performed to pay tribute to Jathedar Kaunke.
