CHANDIGARH: Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) and Bahujan Sanaj Party (BSP) today formed political alliance in Punjab to contest 2022 assembly elections together.
The announcement was made by SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal and BSP general secretary Satish Mishra. SAD was looking for a partner after breaking its alliance with BJP.
SAD has allotted 20 seats to BSP while BJP was contesing on 23 seats in Punjab. SAD and BJP had remained in power for ten years. The alliance came to an end on the issue of three agriculture bills passed by Modi Government.
Sukhbir Badal said that SAD and BSP has same ideology and both the parties are fighting for rights of deprived and down trodden sections of society.
SAD and BJP was formed after three rounds of meetings between SAD preisdent and BSP president Mayawati.
