Punjab Govt to promote tourism to next level: Harjot Singh Bains

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Harjot Singh Bains, on Wednesday, said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government is committed to boost tourism in the state and will take the tourism to the next level with its pro-people and transparent policies.

The cabinet minister also invited all the stakeholders of tourism sector to work in a proper coordination with the government to attract more and more tourists from the country and abroad cities as well.

While chairing a marathon meeting of tourism department here at Punjab Bhawan, Mr. Harjot Singh Bains reviewed all the projects of the department. He directed the officials to ensure adequate publicity of museums and other buildings of tourism department among the masses so that rich cultural heritage of Punjab could be highlighted on the larger level.

“I have also sought a detailed report from the department officials regarding upgradation of the museum situated inside Khatkar Kalan memorial and will take up the matter with Union Government to display all the belongings of Shaheed Bhagat Singh here, ” the minister said.

The cabinet minister said that ‘Pind Babe Nanak Da’, an iconic project at Sultanpur Lodhi, will also be completed with utmost respect and transparency.

Mr. Bains also directed the officials to ensure superior quality in the execution of all other projects of tourism department.

Principal Secretary tourism and cultural affairs Tejveer Singh, Director tourism Kanwal Preet Brar and other officials of the department were also present in the meeting.
