Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Praises Development Projects by KCGC, Offers all Help for Khalsa University

AMRITSAR: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today showered all praises for the various development works undertaken by Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC). He offered all help for newly established Khalsa University and upcoming Khalsa Medical College and Hospital.

Mann who was chief guest at Khalsa College for Women (KCW) during a special function to mark the celebrations of International Women’s Day here today advocated equal opportunities and education for women. He said he was happy to note that the women in KCW and other institutions were enrolling for the skill development and professional courses.
“There is no sector left where the women have not made their marks. In some of the sector including education and health women are performing better than men”, said CM Mann. He was earlier welcomed on arrival at the campus by Khalsa University Pro-Chancellor and KCGC honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, VC Dr.Mehal Singh and Dean Dr.Surinder Kaur.

Chhina in his welcome address to CM said that KU was established in 2016 but later when Congress came into power, the Captain Amarinder Singh government repealed the KU Act. “We had then left with no left option but to approach High Court first and then Supreme Court of India. The apex court in its judgement on October 3, 2024 revived the University Act-2016”, said Chhina adding that KCGC had opened at least one educational institution in the last 15 years.
CM Mann in his address said that he was happy to note the major projects and his government was committed to help all possible help to the management for its upcoming educational works.
