PHAGWARA: A dead body of an unidentified middle aged person found near Santokhpura locality remained lying on the road in abandoned situation for five hours due to jurisdiction dispute among the cops on Wednesday.
The residents who informed the Satnampura Police first alleged that the cops of the police station asked them to tell city police, but when the residents informed city police they were asked to inform Municipal Corporation while MC employees asked them to send the body in civil hospital. Ultimately the Satnampura Police took the body in custody around 4PM i.e. after more than five hours and kept in the mortuary of civil hospital for identification.
In another incident one villager identified as Buta Ram resident of village Bid-Puad near Phagwara was found dead in mysterious circumstances near Mehli by pass in the outskirts of Phagwara today. The Police has sent the body to local civil hospital for post-morterm examination whose report could be disclosed the mystery of his death. The cops are investigating the matter.
