PSPCL Achieves Significant Milestones in Power Transmission Infrastructure, Completes Major Upgradation Works Worth Rs. 151 crore: Harbhajan Singh ETO

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Wednesday announced the successful completion of major upgradation works in PSPCL's power transmission network since January 2024 with a combined estimated cost of Rs. 151 crores , marking a significant step forward in the state's commitment to providing reliable and uninterrupted power supply.

Revealing this in a press communiqué issued here, the Power Minister said that Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) commissioned three new 66 kV grid substations, adding a substantial 80 MVA to the power grid. “Additionally, 32 power transformers were augmented, resulting in an additional capacity of 277 MVA. Furthermore, five new power transformers were installed, contributing an extra 77.5 MVA capacity”, he added.

The Power Minister said that these projects demonstrate PSPCL's proactive approach to meeting the growing power demands of the state. “The strategic focus on augmenting existing infrastructure is a testament to PSPCL's dedication to improving power delivery and enhancing the overall quality of life for the people of Punjab”, said the Minister.

He further added that the PSPCL aimed to meet the growing energy demands of the state while ensuring sustainable power supply with a focus on infrastructure development and technological advancements. He said that these milestones mark a significant achievement in PSPCL's journey towards providing world-class power services.

"PSPCL is committed to providing reliable and efficient power supply to consumers, " said Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO while adding , "These achievements showcase the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Governments’s efforts to upgrade and expand state’s power transmission infrastructure, ensuring sustainable power supply and supporting the state's economic growth."
