PHAGWARA: In a decisive breakthrough, the Jalandhar Rural Police have cracked the Adampur murder case within hours, arresting three accused and recovering the murder weapon along with the Scorpio vehicle used in the crime.
Speaking to the media, the Senior Superintendent of Police Jalandhar Rural Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said that the operation was spearheaded by DSP Adampur Kulwant Singh, PPS, and Inspector Ravinderpal Singh, SHO Adampur.
The incident occurred on the night of December 17, 2024, near Bassi Dhaba, Adampur, where a violent clash between two groups turned fatal. The altercation escalated when one group, led by Kamaljit Singh alias Kamli, attacked the other with sharp weapons.
The attack resulted in the death of Sunil Kumar, son of Sarwan Kumar, while two others, Anmol, son of Hari Das, and Paramjit, son of Darshan Lal, suffered serious injuries.
A case was promptly registered under FIR No. 164, dated December 18, 2024, under Sections 103, 115(2), 118(1), 351(3), 191(3), and 190 of BNS at Police Station Adampur, district Jalandhar.
Acting swiftly, the police arrested Kamaljit Singh alias Kamli, son of Avtar Singh, a resident of Badala; Jorawar Singh alias Jora, son of Sarwan Kumar, a resident of Adampur; and Satinderjit Singh, son of Balveer Singh, a resident of village Kauhja, Adampur.
During the operation, the murder weapon and a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number PB09-K-0386 were recovered. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining accused, identified as Sunil Kumar, Anmol, Damandeep Singh, and Paramjit, who are absconding. Police teams are conducting raids to ensure their capture.
The arrested accused will be produced in the local court, and their remand will be sought to further investigate the case and trace their forward and backward linkages.
