Political crisis intensifies due to political battle of Punjab Congressmen: Brahmapura, Dhidsa

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Akali Dal (United) Patron Jathedar Ranjit Singh Brahmpura and Party President Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa today expressed grave concern over power cuts in Punjab and said that it was astonishing that Punjab had so much power. Generates and supplies power to other states as well but then there is a shortage of systems as well as gross negligence.

The leaders alleged that the battle between Capt. The leaders in a statement here today
said that due to non-availability of electricity, the indebted farmer was financially strapped and crores of rupees were spent on paddy crop but the government did not run thermal plants nor did it make arrangements to procure electricity.

They further said that the demand for one thousand megawatts increases every year. Powercom should have managed more than 14, 500 MW of power this year. Punjab is currently getting 5700 MW of power.

They said that in order to improve the power supply, the chairman of Powercom, technical experts should be appointed in time so that the stability of this department could be maintained. He also alleged that the Punjab government was short of funds.
