AMRITSAR: A day after complaint by Shiromani Gurdwara parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the police has registered registered a case against social media influencer Archana Makwana, a resident of Gujarat for performing Yoga in parikrama of Sri Harmandir Sahib.

A FIR has been registered under section 295A of IPC for inciting religious sentiment. This was confirmed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Singh. He said that the police checked the CCTV cameras in Darbar Sahib, according to which Archana did not pay obeisance at the holy place but performed Yoga by sitting in Prakarma. Actually, it seems all she has done was for propaganda. So an FIR has been filed.

It is mentioned that the SGPC took serious notice of the social media post and called it a violation of dignity. Complaint was lodged with Police Commissioner to file an FIR after pictures of yoga in Harmandir Sahib group went viral. She is said to be an accomplice of film star MP Kangna Ranaut.

Meanwhile social media influencer Archana Makwana had apologised for the act committed by her. She said that she was not aware of the rituals and she never wanted to hurt religious sentiments of any community.

The Gujarat Police has given security cover to Archana after the controversy over her Yoga performance in Golden Temple.
