AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, has expressed strong objection to the government of Pakistan giving a part of the land named after the Guru Ghar at Sri Nankana Sahib by the servant of the Guru Ghar, Rai Bular Bhatti, for some other purpose.
Advocate Dhami said that they have been informed by the family of Rai Bular Bhatti that the government of Pakistan has taken action to give about 60% of the land named after Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib to a trust for some other purpose.
He said that Rai Bular Bhatti was an ardent devotee of Guru Ghar who had donated 750 maraba land as a tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
He said that even today the family of Rai Bular Bhatti still has the same devotion to Guru Ghar and such an action has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Sikhs as well as his family.
The Shiromani Committee president also asked the Auqaf Board, which is looking after the lands, to take necessary steps to preserve the land and property of the Guru Ghar by taking immediate action. He also asked the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee to file a case in the High Court of Pakistan against this decision of the Government of Pakistan and use all means to stop this action.
Advocate Dhami appealed to the Government of Pakistan to immediately stop the decision to transfer the land of the Guru Ghar for another purpose and to transfer the land to Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib as before.
