AMRIK SINGH | March 18, 2022 08:16 PM

AMRITSAR: Following the objections raised by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, the program of Jashan-e-Baharan to be held by the Government of Pakistan from March 23 to 27 near Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib Sri Kartarpur Sahib (Pakistan) has been canceled.

Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) had strongly objected to the information received about the program. He had written a letter to Amir Singh and the Pakistan embassy in Delhi asking them to suspend the program.
Late last evening, the government of Pakistan, while considering the letter of the SGPC, banned the organization of the program. The information of which has reached the Shiromani Committee through email.
Welcoming the ban on the program by the government of Pakistan, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami hoped that such a mistake would not happen in future.
He said that taking the letter of the SGPC seriously and the decision of the management regarding the Kartarpur corridor to stop the program was in favor of the historical significance of the shrine and the etiquette of the Guru Ghar. For this we thank the Government of Pakistan and the Okaf Board including the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.
