PATIALA: The Patiala district magistrate today imposed curfew from 7 PM to 6 AM in Patiala as a precautionary measure after two groups belonging to Shiv Sena and some Sikh organisation clashed. Several persons were injured.
The Shiv Sena Bal Thakrey had given call for anti-Khalistan protest which was opposed by certain Sikh organisations.
Various political parties have condemned the violence and appealed to people to maintain communal harmony.
Meanwhile Shiv Sena has suspended its state unit president Harish Singla for anti party activities. He had announced the protest without the consent of party. Udhav Thankrey head of Shiv Sena and Maharashtra chief minister has ordered suspension of Singla.
