The AAP government's "Shiksha Kranti Abhiyan" is merely a political play: Balbir Singh Sidhu
CHANDIGARH: Former Punjab Health Minister and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu strongly condemned the shameful incident of MLA Chetan Singh Jouramajra insulting teachers in the presence of students and said, "Samana MLA Chetan Singh Jouramajra's behavior with teachers at Samana school is completely unacceptable, and I strongly condemn it. Such behavior with our teachers, who are part of the development of our state, is shameful."

Targeting MLA Chetan Singh Jouramajra, Sidhu said, "He has grossly violated social norms by demeaning a very important and respected part of our society, the teaching profession, especially women teachers, for which he must be punished." He further said that this MLA had earlier also insulted Dr. Raj Bahadur Singh, Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Medical Sciences and world-renowned orthopedic surgeon, while being a minister.

The former health minister termed the 'Shiksha Kranti' campaign launched in the state by the Manish Sisodia-led Punjab government, embroiled in the "liquor trade and classroom" scams and defeated by the people of Delhi, as a political drama and said, "The Aam Aadmi Party government has put unnecessary mental and financial pressure on teachers to spread its fake news, which has had a negative impact on their work and mental health. He also said that like the 'classroom scam' in Delhi, a new 'foundation scam' will soon emerge from this 'Shiksha Kranti' campaign in Punjab."

The Congress leader, while focusing on the defeat of Aam Aadmi Party, said, "After the crushing defeat in Delhi, the panicked leaders of Aam Aadmi Party are trying to revive their sinking wing by doing drama of 'Shiksha Kranti Abhiyan' and 'War on Drugs', which is not going to achieve anything." He said that the truth of the changes in Aam Aadmi Party has come before the people of Punjab and they are determined to defeat them in the next assembly elections.

Sidhu demanded from the AAP government, "The irresponsible and socially inept MLAs should immediately resign and be expelled from the party so that after this, anyone will think twice before behaving or making any kind of comment on teachers or any other section of the society."
