KAPURTHALA : District level competitions under the “khedan Watan Punjab Diyan 2022” to be held from September 13 to September 21, in which around 5 thousand players will participate.
Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Mr. Vishesh Sarangal said that more than 7 thousand people participated in the block level competitions organized by the Punjab government from August 29 to September 6 with an aim
to develop the sports culture at the grassroots level and providing a platform to budding players.
He also said that now 5 thousand students and youth will participate in the district level competitions as adequate arrangements have been made by the district administration for the competitions to be held at different places in the district.
On September 13, these competitions will start from the Guru Nanak Stadium, Kapurthala where competitions for athletics, basketball, kho-kho, kabaddi, hockey and volleyball will be held till September 15.
Handball competition to be held on September 13 at Sri Anandpur Sahib Khalsa Academy Lakhankalan whereas the kick boxing competition will be held on September 15 at Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala.
Badminton competitions to be organised from 13 to 15 September at Ranjit Badminton Academy village Dhudianwal, followed by football competition at Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) Phagwara from September 16 to 18.
wrestling competition will be held at RPD Wrestling Academy Phagwara on September 16, while the swimming competition at Cambridge School Phagwara on September 16 and 17.
Similarly, the roller skating competition to be organised at Cambridge School Phagwara on September 16 and the powerlifting competition will be held at Ramgarhia College Phagwara on September 16.
Gatka competition will be held on September 19 at Sri Gursar Sahib Saifalabad followed by boxing competition at Lord Mahavir Jain Public School Phagwara on September 21.
Deputy Commissioner said that the winners of the district level competitions will represent the district in the state level competitions.
