CHANDIGARH: The statement by Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convener that a prominant Sikh will be CM face of Party has triggerred speculations that rebel Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu may be the CM candidate of AAP in Punjab.
When Kejriwal during a Press conference in Amritsar was telling the media a prominant Sikh face will be CM candidate of AAP and people of Punjab will feel proud of him, Navjot Sidhu sitting 325 kms away in Patiala was busy giving interviews to select TV channels, directly challenging the authority of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. Sidhu had also made outburst against Capt Amarinder Sigh in print media and accused Capt Amarinder Singh for all the ills in Punjab besides having hand in glove with Badal family.
Looking at political developments going on in Congress party and AAP, the political observers said it was not co-incidence that Sidhu has challenged Capt Amarinder Singh on the day when Kejriwal is in Punjab to plan party's strategy for 2022 assembly elections. The Congress party has also went into election and called Capt Amarinder Singh to Delhi. He will be meeting Sonia Gandhi tomorrow, Punjab Congress MLAs and MPs have also met Rahul Gandhi today evening in Delhi.
The three member panel formed by Congress high command to resolve the tussel between Capt Amarinder Singh and Sidhu but the panel has failed to take any unanimous stand. Capt Amarinder camp has been projecting him (Captain) as only leader who can lead the party in 2022 elections. Sidhu who was waiting for the last many days to listen final word from high command, today lost his ptience and lashed at Capt Amarinder Singh.
Sidhu has accused Capt Amarinder Singh Badal family grabbing power turn by turn. He said that all kind of mafias were flourishing during Capt Amarinder Singh's rule. Bureacracy is controlling the government and system has failed to give justice to people of Punjab. He said that he wanted to reform the system and told Capt Amarinder Singh to stop evasion of revenue by mining mafia and liquor mafia. He said that transport mafia led by Badals is looting. Why Capt Amarinder Singh didnt stop illegal buses of Badal family, he asked.
Sidhu also questioned Capt Amarinder Singh on failure to nab the culprits of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib. He said that why four members of SIT who didnt sign the report were pulled by Capt Amarinder Singh.
He said that government land worth crores was grabbed by Congress leaders.He also questioned Capt Amarinder Singh for giving jobs to sons of two MLAs on compassionate ground.
