AMRITSAR: Giani Raghbir Singh Jathedar Akal Takht has refuted the misleading news being spread with reference to him regarding changing the color of Nishan Sahib's dress according to the panth-approved Sikh Rehit Maryada.
In a written statement issued by the Akal Takht Secretariat, Giani Raghbir Singh said that during his visit to England in the past, he met some Singhs who asked questions about the color of Nishan Sahib's dress.
Regarding this, Giani Raghbir Singh had told those Singhs that the Panj Singh Sahibs did not make a new or different decision regarding changing the color of Nishan Sahib's dress, but in the 1936 panth-approved Sikh Rehit Maaryada, it is written that Nishan Sahib's The costumes should be of 'basanti or surmai' color. Due to this, the color of Nishan Sahib has been fixed according to the Sikh Rehit Maryada.
Giani Raghbir Singh also read out the order letter held in the gathering of Panj Singh Sahibs on 15th July 2024 in relation to removing the dilemma expressed by the Sangat regarding the color of Nishan Sahib's dress to those Singhs.
