In a written statement issued by the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh said that Bhai Gajinder Singh was awarded the title of 'Exile Sikh Warrior' by Sri Akal Takht Sahib in August 2020 due to spending a large part of his life on account of the panth.

He said that Bhai Gajinder Singh was a sectarian thinker and spirit, had a lofty life and a warm nature.
He always tried to keep alive the voice of the pain and rights of the cult through his pen.
