SANGRUR: The hunger strike being carried out by Punjab's computer teachers under the banner of Computer Teachers Hunger Strike Sangharsh Committee in front of the DC office of Sangrur for the last 117 days is continuing continuously. Along with this, the fast to death started by computer teacher leader Joni Singla entered its third day today. Today, a large number of computer teachers from all over Punjab participated in this fast to death and raised their voices regarding their rights.
Giving information on this occasion, computer teacher Johnny Singla along with the main leaders of the hunger strike movement committee Paramveer Singh Pammi, Pradeep Kumar Maluka, Rajwant Kaur, Ranjit Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Gurbaksh Lal, Jaspal, Udham Singh Dogra, Bavleen Bedi, Sumit Goyal, Rajni, Dharminder Singh, Narinder Kumar, Rakesh Saini, Sushil Angural, Priyanka Vishisht, Manjit Kaur, Karamjit Puri, Gagandeep Singh, Jaswinder Singh (Ludhiana), Naib Singh Bukkanwal said that the Punjab government is not serious about their demands and a policy of constant slander is being adopted with them, due to which the computer teachers are feeling cheated. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party, which had been making big promises to form the government and fulfill their demands before the assembly elections, justifying all their demands, is not even ready to talk to them today.
He said that now the fight of computer teachers has reached a decisive turning point and they are not going to return empty-handed. On this occasion, a large number of computer teachers gathered from all over Punjab and protested against the Punjab government, raising slogans and raising their voices regarding their demands. Pamphlets were also distributed to the passers-by by the computer teachers, telling the story of the discrimination done to them by the government.
While giving information about their demands, the computer teachers said that they do not have any new demands. Their only demand is that all the benefits mentioned in their regular orders should be restored to the computer teachers and they should be merged unconditionally into the education department while giving them the benefits of the Sixth Pay Commission. The family members of the computer teachers who have died in the past should be given government jobs along with due financial benefits.
