AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Chief Secretary, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, asked the Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University Patiala contact the SGPC before publishing the encyclopedia. .
He said that the reprinting of the encyclopedia by the Punjabi University Patiala had exposed a number of errors which had been stopped by the Punjab and Haryana High Court after objections from the Shiromani Committee and the Sangat.
Later, the university decided to abolish it completely. Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha's encyclopedia is an important document related to the Sikh world, which deals with various topics according to the principles of Gurmat. It is the heritage of the Sikh community and must be preserved in its original form.
He said that Punjabi University should liaise with the SGPC to work on the encyclopedia and republish it so that any controversy could be avoided in future.
