CHANDIGARH:In a bid to to make the admission process in Government run colleges of the state hassle free, quick and simplified , The Punjab Government has developed a Integrated Common unified Online Admission Portal for all kinds of admissions which will has been launched by Captain Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister, Punjab on Auguest 19, 2021.
Disclosing this in a press communique Mr. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Higher Education Minister said that now the students could apply for admission in different colleges while sitting at home, they need not to go personally in various colleges of their liking and buy prospectus. Even the students could apply for admission by filing online form on their mobiles. He said that earlier, the admission process use to be very complex, ambiguous for every college and university. The complete Admission process was in abysmal state as there was inconvenience to students to apply at separate portals.
He said that it was the need of the hour to introduce an Integrated Common unified Online Admission Portal for all kinds of admissions. Keeping in view, a unified State admission portal has been rolled in Govt. Colleges across the State. The salient features of the common admission portal include Single admission platform for all the Govt. Colleges of Punjab for UG and PG Courses 100% contactless admission (applicants do not have to be physically present in any college for admission), Single application form for multiple colleges (i.e. applicants do not have to roam around from one college to another to fill the application forms separately, Fixed Application form fee of Rs 200 only ( applicants do not have to pay the prospectus fee separately to every college while applying), Contactless verification of the applicants (State portal is linked with all State Boards as well as CBSE though DigiLocker) hence no manual verification is required) Similarly Caste certificate (SC/BC) and Domicile certificate of the applicant is auto verified by the portal Structured and defined fee structure as per State University norms.
