PHAGWARA: While Commemorating the birth anniversary of Late Kanshi Ram founder of Bahujan Samaj Party, Punjab Unit of BSP has announced “Jantak Abhiyan”(Mass Movement) against drugs in all villages and blocks of Punjab to eradicate the menace of Drugs from Punjab.
This was announced Bahujan Samaj Party Punjab President Avtar Singh Karimpuri while addressing a state level “Punjab Sambhalo Rally” held in Phagwara on Saturday.
He stated that under the “Jantak Abhiyan” common masses would be made aware about the menace of drugs, he appealed to common masses to support BSP all over Punjab in the “ Jantak Abhiyaan”.
While addressing the gathering Avtar Singh Karimpuri stated that the youth of Punjab is drowning in the flood of drugs and State Government was doing nothing to curb the chain of drugs in Punjab. He charged that campaign started by AAP led Punjab Government is mere mockery to advertise in the eyes of common people, only small drug abusers/sellers are being caught in front of media, which was nothing but mere mockery. He stated that State Government is not putting hands on large scale drug suppliers which have drowned Punjab’s youth in drugs.
Karimpuri charged that AAP led State Government and Police Administration under it were at all not serious about eradicating the menace of drugs.
BSP President demanded immediate screening of police personnels and those who are involved in supporting drug rackets should be dealt with legal punishments.
While addressing the gathering Randhir Singh Benipal ( National Co-ordinator and Incharge BSP Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal) stated that Punjab is land of Kanshi Ram and its heavy responsibility on the people of Punjab to carry forward movement of BSP. He stated that Kanshi Ram is the only leader who didn’t let the legacy of Dr. B R Ambedkar die along with his death. He stated that Kanshi Ram formed BSP with aim to carry forward the ideology of Dr. B R Ambedkar and make bahujan aware about its rights and justice’s. He alleged that Congress and BJP tried to finish the name of Dr. BR Ambedkar but they failed terribly, then they tried to finish BSP but they failed again.
He stated that Congress and BJP had no alternative left, but to carry the picture of Dr. BR Ambedkar along with them and started advertising that they are supporter of Baba Saheb. He stated that SC Community is base of BSP and we need to protect the base to make the party strong, hence it is very important to protect the SC community from getting distracted by the advertisement of Baba Saheb by other political parties.
Prominent leaders present at the rally were Kulwant Kaur ( Sister of Late Kanshi Ram), Dr. Nachhattar Pal ( MLA Nawanshahar BSP), Ajit Singh Baini (Incharge BSP Punjab) , Parveen Banga, Harbhaghan Singh Balalon among others.
