CHANDIGARH: Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaderBikram Singh Majithia today urged the union government to issue Look OutCirculars (LOCs) against the former Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) of chiefminister Bhagwant Mann – Rajbir Singh and Onkar Singh as well as the formerDirector (Media Relations) Baltej Pannu to ensure they did not flee the countrywith their ill gotten wealth.
In a statement here, the SAD leader said all three persons had been dismissed from service by theAAP high command after the downsizing of chief minister Bhagwant Mann and thetakeover of the chief minister’s office (CMO) by Arvind Kejriwal. “While OnkarSingh and Baltej Pannu have been dismissed, Rajbir’s resignation has beenprocured”.
Asserting that theaides of Bhagwant Mann were likely to flee the country, Mr Bikram Majithia said“Rajbir’s entire family has Canadian citizenship. There are widespreadallegations of him being involved in hawala transactions involving crores ofrupees. There are also reports of multi-crore land and show room deals. It isimperative that he should be made accountable for these acts of corruption. Acentral probe should be initiated in this regard. The probe should alsoinvestigate on whose behalf Rajbir was sending ill-gotten wealth out of thecountry”.
Mr Majithia saidsimilarly former Director, Media Baltej Pannu was a Canadian citizen and couldflee the country. “Pannu has a shady past and his sources of income andaccumulation of wealth during his stay in India need to be probed thoroughly”.He said former OSD Onkar Singh, who used to look after the chief minister’sconstituency Dhuri, was also involved in questionable deals which needed athorough investigation. I appeal to the union home ministry to issue LOCsagainst all three. I also appeal to the centre to initiate a probe into theiracts of corruption as well as probe the money trail which MOST certainly willreach the very top”.
