Bibi Jagir Kaur welcomed the announcement of withdrawal of Agriculture Act by the Prime Minister

AMRITSAR:Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur has welcomed the announcement by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to repeal the anti-farmer black law.
She said that this was possible only with the grace of Guru Nanak.
Speaking on the occasion Bibi Jagir Kaur said that these laws were not in the interest of the farmers for which they had to be repealed. Although this is a late decision, it is still welcome.
Bibi Jagir Kaur also said that the withdrawal of the law proved that the Modi government was adamant on wrong decision.
Referring to the damage caused by the black laws, the SGPC President said that while hundreds of farmers were killed during the long struggle, huge financial losses were also incurred. In addition, it had a profound effect on communal harmony.

Meanwhile Senior Punjab Bhartiya Janta Party leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for announcing the repeal of three farm laws in the upcoming winter parliamentary session.
He said the announcement came at the auspicious occasion of Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, which is evident of PM Modi’s commitment to the common man and farmers.

Chhina, who met PM as part of the party's delegation last week, said the issue was discussed threadbare and the PM listened to them patiently. ``He is a true democratic leader and seeing the sentiments prevailing he has decided to repeal the laws, which is a welcome step”, said Chhina.
He shared the sentiments of the PM that though there were some good points in the laws but sections of the farmers were not happy so it was better that their opinion is also respected and the laws are taken back
Meanwhile General Secretary SAD United Karnail Singh Peermohammad bowing before the great struggle of farmers said that this struggle also shows that Punjab is the real leader as it started the movement and carried it forward. . He said.
These are the great gifts of Guru Nanak's enlightenment. I think Modi has taken a very sensible decision for the country after inflicting heavy losses. But if this decision had not been taken, civil war would have started in the country. Karnail Singh Peermohammad strongly condemned the communal people who continued to suffer in favor of the three black laws"he added.

Expressing these words, Mr. Om Prakash Soni, Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab said that today is a very historic day and the repeal of these laws on the occasion of Guru Nanak's birth is a very commendable step.
Mr. Soni said that our farmers had been sitting on dharnas on the Delhi border for a long time to get these black laws repealed and about 700 farmers had given their lives during the agitation. He said that these black laws should have been withdrawn by the Center earlier. Mr. Soni said that although this movement has been going on for a long time, in the end only the farmers have won. He said that the first agitation for independence of the country had started from Punjab. "Our government has already repealed these three laws from the outset, " Soni told reporters.
