CHANDIGARH: Partap Singh Bajwa Leader of Opposition and senior Congress leader today rebutted the threat of action against him given by the Chief Minister Bahgwant Singh Mann, said that Mann is total failure as Chief Minister and advised him to be wise and sensitive. He said that if CM wants to take action against him, he is most welcome.
Bajwa was talking to media persons after a police party led by Navjot Kaur Bains AIG Punjab Police questioned Bajwa on his source of his statement that 50 bombs had arrived in Punjab and 18 are used so far, the rest 32 may be used by miscreants in future. Bajwa referred to grenade blast at the residence of BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia on April 8 and said that it was total intelligence failure.
Bajwa said that as a LoP he was holding a constitutional post and he get information from many sources in center and state governments. He said that he would not disclose his source of information. He said that CM was talking of action but on the contrary he (Bajwa) had helped the police to be on alert and locate the unused bombs. He said that a grenade attack was thrown on headquarter of intelligence department and police had no prior information. He said police intelligence also failed to thwart attack on Manoranjan Kalia's house.
Bajwa said that he received a call from a senior officer that they want to come to him regarding his statement. He said he cooperated with the police team and told them he would reveal his sources. He said that few leaders of AAP had arrived from Delhi and they are creating problem in the state.
Bajwa said that he and his family were victims of terrorism, his father was killed in 1987 and his car was attacked with bomb in 1990. He said that his motive was to alert CM and police that Punjab didn't want to see same dark days again. He said that Mann was just a child when militancy ruined Punjab.
