BATALA: Under the 'Mukh Mantri Tīrth Yatra Scheme', a bus was flagged off today by Batala MLA Amansher Singh Sherri Kalsi for the darshan of Sri Anandpur Sahib and Amritsar Sahib.
On this occasion Jinderpal Singh Secretary Zila Prisad , Harbinder Singh Gill GM Punjab Roadways Batala, Madhu Pushpa GM Roadways Amritsar, Paramjit Kaur BDPO Batala, Bikram Luthra Inspector Punjab Roadways, Tarun Kalsi, Malkeet Singh, Gagan Batala were also present.
Speaking to media persons , MLA Şherri Kalsi said that Under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Maan, the Punjab government has started the 'Mukh Mantri Tīrth Yatra' scheme, with which the people is visiting various religious places.
He said that the pilgrims who went in the bus today were full of joy and enthusiasm and they fully appreciated the effort made by the Punjab government to give them the opportunity to visit the religious places. In today's special bus, MLA Sherry Kalsi's mother Smt. Balbir Kaur also went to the darshan with the people.
MLA Sheri Kalsi further said that the Punjab government has also provided one kit to the pilgrims, which contains the necessary items. He said that the entire arrangement of the passengers' coming and going, tea and food on the way and overnight stay etc. has been done by the Punjab government so that the passenger does not face any kind of trouble. This bus will arrive back at Batala tomorrow, December 16.
MLA Sherry Kalsi said that the Punjab government has arranged two types of facilities for the chief minister's pilgrimage. For long-distance religious places, the means of travel is by train, and for short distances, the means of travel is by road or bus. With the commencement of this scheme, the people of Punjab have got the facility of free travel to visit various pilgrimage sites across the country.
