AMRITSAR: The ink has not yet dried on the news of indecent exposure at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib about two days ago by throwing Gutka Sahib in the sarovar, an unidentified person tried to desecrate the holy Guru Granth Sahib in sanctum sanctorum of Shri Darbar Sahib(Golden Temple).
As the accused entered the holy area to disrespect Guru Granth Sahib, the attendant on the spot grabbed him and later an irate mob of reportedly killed him.
According to the information received this evening while the recitation rehraas was in progress, a person tried to disrespect Guru Granth Sahib. He was intercepted and dragged out of sanctum sanctorum.
The man was apprehended by on-duty servants and later handed over to the Darbar Sahib's manager and task force. He was taken to Parkarma's room and interrogated, but as he was being brought to the SGPC office, an angry mob killed him.
SGPC president Harminder Singh advocate, SAD chief matron Parkash Singh Badal, SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal and former SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur condemned the action and demanded a high level probe. They alleged it was a conspiracy which shall be exposed.
