AMRITSAR: The jatha of 705 Sikh pilgrims left for Pakistan to attend the main function to be held at Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib on the occasion of Khalsa Creation Day Vaisakhi.
On the occasion of departure, the Shiromani Committee member who led the Jatha Ravinder Singh Khalsa, Balwinder Singh Weinpuin, Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan, Bibi Joginder Kaur, General Manager. Virinder Singh Tharu, Other prominent personalities including Bikramjit Singh Jhangi were honored by the SGPC officials with titles and garlands of flowers.
Jatha leader Ravinder Singh Khalsa said that the list of 900 pilgrims was sent by the SGPC for applying for visas out of which only 705 pilgrims got visas.

He said that many gurdwaras of the Sikh community in Pakistan were adorned with the desire of the Sikh community to visit them, therefore the governments of both the countries should generously issue visas.
The jatha will reach Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib on April 14 after attending the main function. After visiting Gurdwaras at Sri Nankana Sahib on April 15, the group will visit Gurdwara Sacha Sauda Sahib on April 16. On April 17-18, Sikh devotees will pay obeisance at Gurdwara Dehra Sahib Lahore, on April 19 at Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib, Sri Kartarpur Sahib and on April 20 at Gurdwara Sri Rori Sahib Eminabad. The group will return to India on April 21 after visiting shrines in Pakistan.
