AMRITSAR: The first parkash utsav of Guru Granth Sahib was celebrated with great enthusiasm and nagar kirtan was, organised here this morning.
On the occasion of the first parkash utsav of Guru Granth Sahib, a large number of devotees paid obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and Gurdwara Sri Ramsar Sahib today.
The nagar kirtan which was started from Gurdwara Ram Sar after the bhog of Akhand path .
the nagar kirtan was led by panj piaras after parading in the main bazaars of city it was ended at Aksl Takht Sahib.
school children with their bands, Brass bands and gatka parties also participated in nagar kirtan.
The holy bir of Guru Granth Sahib was carried in flower decked palanqiine. Several kirtani jathas including Shabad Chowki jatha Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh , Sukhmani Sahib seva society also joined the nagar kirtan.
The entire Golden Temple complex was tastefully decorated with colourful two thousand quintal flowers, and 100 artisans specially arrived from Kolkata and UP The jaloo (an exhibition of ancient traditional Sikh jewellery was held at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir sahib , Akal Takht and Gurdwara Baba Atal Sahib.
The golden doors of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir sahib were also displayed during the jaloo.
A religious Diwan was held at Akal Takht Sahib in which several raagis dhadis and preachers thrown the light on teachings of Guru Granth Sahib.
The holy Bir of Guru Granth Sahib was brought to Sachkhand Sri Harmandir sahib by 5th Guru Sri Guru Arjan Dev on this day in 1604 and Baba Budha was appointed first Head Granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib.
