AMRITSAR: The Department of Mechanical Engineering of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), participated in the Khalsa Science Festival, organized by the Society for Promotion of Science and Technology in India (SPSTI) in collaboration with Khalsa College, Amritsar. The Chief guest of the event was the Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, Ms. Sakshi Sahni. The event, aimed at promoting innovation and scientific curiosity, featured stalls from various esteemed institutions and organizations, including government bodies and the Department of Science and Technology.
Mechanical department proudly set up a stall titled "Robotics", which showcased a range of innovative projects and technological advancements. Highlights of the stall included robotic demonstrations, bionic mechanisms, virtual reality experiences, agricultural solutions like soil moisture sensors, and creative DIY engineering projects. These exhibits reflected the department’s commitment to advancing science and technology education.
The stall garnered significant attention from students, educators, and professionals, who explored the projects with great enthusiasm. The team of students and faculty coordinator, Er. Pahulpreet Singh worked tirelessly to prepare an engaging and interactive experience under the guidance of the Head of Department, Dr. Harminder Singh and Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Palwinder Singh.
