PATTI: Three unidentified bike born assailants today shot dead Rajwinder Singh of village Talwandi Mohr Singh Wala of Patti in Taran Taran district of Punjab. He was shot from a close range while travelling in a car with two of his friends.
Rajiwnder Singh was unanimously elected Sarpanch of his village and he was on way to celebrate the victory with freinds. He was an active worker of Aam Aadmi Party and belonged to SC category.
Police is yet to identify the assailants and know the motive of murder of young sarpanch.
The elections of gram Panchyats in Punjab will be held on October 15. In many village Sarpanches were elected unopposed that includes Satauj village of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
