LOHIAN:The Lohian Khas police have arrested a Amritsar resident s on the charge stealing barrier from National Highways (NH).The investigating officer (IO) Pargat Singh said that the accused has been identified as Avtar Chand alias Bittu a resident of Bhagatanwala Gate Amritsar .
Executive Engineer Nation Highways division Jalandhar(PWD –BR) had complained to the police that the accused stole metal beam crash barrier from burji no.703-A at Giddar Pindi village on the Jalandhar-Kapurthala-Sultan Pur Lodhi road(NH).
IO said that a case under sections 379(theft) and 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the Indian Penal Code and section 3 of the Govt.Property Damage Act was been registered against the accused and his five accomplices have been arrested earlier.
