CHANDIGARH: National Executive Member of Bharatiya Janata Party and party Co-in-charge of Himachal Pradesh, Sanjay Tandon has written a letter to the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, urging that the special train currently being run by the Railway Department from Chandigarh to Varanasi be run on regular basis.

\Tandon appealed the Railway Minister after members of Chandigarh-based Bharatiya Maurya Samaj expressed its urgent need. The members highlighted the significant benefits of the special trains (numbered 04211 and 04212) connecting Chandigarh to Varanasi, particularly for residents of eastern Uttar Pradesh. Currently, the railway department plans to discontinue this service after July 14.

In his letter, Mr Tandon briefed the Railway Minister on the pressing demands from the community, emphasized the current travel challenges faced by Uttar Pradesh residents. He pointed out that these residents relied on the Sadbhavna train from
Chandigarh to Lucknow, followed by additional transfers to destinations like Rae Bareli, Amethi, and Pratapgarh. This fragmented journey caused considerable inconvenience especially for families.

Tandon advocated for the permanent operation of the Chandigarh-Varanasi special train in his letter, highlighting its significant benefits for people from eastern Uttar Pradesh residing in Chandigarh. He urged Minister Vaishnav to consider these factors and prioritize this train service for convenience of affected residents.
