CHANDIGARH: Senior BJP leader and former MC councillor Satinder Singh has written to the Director General of Chandigarh Police to register an FIR under relevant sections of the IPC against DSP (East) P. Abhinadan and his colleagues for grievously injuring and using third degree to a Kishangarh resident during the police custody.
Satinder Singh also requested to repatriate the DSP to his parent cadre and to take strict disciplinary action against him for taking the law in his hands and tarnishing the image of Chandigarh Police. In his letter he brought into DGP's notice the inhuman and unprofessional face of DSP East, P. Abhinadan with the request to take strict action against him in the interest of police image.
According to him, on June 18 at about 4-5 PM, about 5-6 police official of Chandigarh police namely Constable Ankit Mor, Constable Sandeep Kumar, Constable Deep and two more officers, came at Hotel Palm situated at village Kishangarh and took Amar Singh into custody. On asking about the reasons behind his arrest, the police officials told that DSP P Abhinandan would tell about the same. The police officials rather than taking him to the police station IT park Chandigarh, took him to one private property at Makhan Majra.
Meanwhile, DSP P. Abhinandan also came there and instructed the police officials to lay him down. The police officials after laying down Amar Singh climbed on his chest and other two police official placed stick on his legs and tied with rope. Thereafter DSP P. Abhinandan started beating him with the stick. They gave severe beatings to Amar Singh until he fell unconscious.
Thereafter, they took him to PS Manimajra. When the parents of Amar Singh came to know about this fact they also reached at PS Manimajra but they all were not allowed to talk to him.
Amar Singh’s family members requested the Police officers to leave him but they all said, this case was personal case of P. Abhinandan and there was order of senior officers not to allow anyone to meet him.
On June 19 the Police produced Amar Singh before Tarun Kumar, JMIC, Chandigarh, at his residence. The Magistrate also found that Amar Singh was brutally beaten up by Police officials. As such the Ld. Magistrate recorded his statement. The Magistrate constituted a Medical Board for the fair medical examination of Amar Singh. As such upon orders of the Magistrate the medical examination was conducted by the panel of Doctors at GMSH sector 16.
The police beatings of Amar Singh without any reasons caused grievous injuries to him. Due to this Amar Singh got fracture and number of injuries hence inviting serious sections of IPC against DSP P Abhinandan and his associates.
