MOHALI: World Diabetes Day was celebrated by University School of Allied Health Sciences, (USAHS) Rayat Bahra University.
The theme of the day was “Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps, " The theme highlights the commitment to reduce the risk of diabetes and making sure that everyone with the disease has access to equitable, thorough, reasonably priced, and high-quality care.
With this commitment, Dr Pankaj Kaul, Dean, University School of Allied Health Sciences, emphasised on the necessity of early change in lifestyle to prevent diabetes. He along with Pervinder Kaur, Assistant Professor, Clinical Biochemistry, University School of Allied Health Sciences, shared their views on clinical aspects of various conditions leading to diabetes.
The speakers primarily emphasised the need for healthy food habits and active lifestyle for the prevention of diabetes.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by K. S. Rana, Associate Professor, University School of Allied Health Sciences.
Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra and Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor, appreciated the efforts put in by faculty and students of USAHS for spreading awareness about diabetes and its side effects.
