Khalsa College Governing Council celebrated the 420th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Granth Sahib with devotion.

AMRITSAR: The Khalsa College Governing Council celebrated the 420th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib today at the Gurdwara Sahib located in the Khalsa College campus with great enthusiasm and devotion.

On this occasion, the Honorary Secretary of the Council Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, after bowing at the Guru's feet, congratulated the people present and living in the country and abroad on this holy day.

On this auspicious day, the students of Khalsa College of Law connected the congregation with the Guru's feet through the chanting of Rasabhinne Kirtan.

After this, Sikh history scholar and principal of Khalsa College Senior Secondary School Dr. Inderjit Singh Gogoani informed the Sangat in detail about 'Sri Guru Granth Sahib' and shed light on the teachings given by the Guru Sahibs.

Meanwhile, Chhina said that everyone should meditate on the hymn 'Sri Guru Granth Sahib' which comes from Dhur, which is the Juga-Jugantar Ang-Sang Sahai, with which all conflicts and worries disappear.

He said that Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji took the great decision to keep the Bani in pure form and collect it in one Granth Sahib for the welfare of the people and while editing Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji first Gave place to Guru Nanak Dev Ji's great work 'Japuji Sahib'.

For this great work, Guru Sahib ji appointed Bhai Gurdas ji as a scribe and started the process of writing Pothi Sahib on the bank of Ramsar at Sri Amritsar Sahib.

After many months of hard work of Guru Sahib, the compilation of Pothi Sahib was completed in 1604 AD. He said that Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji did the work of editing Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji without any discrimination including the verses of all scholars and devotees.
