AMRITSAR: Guru Nanak Dev University hosted a distinguished delegation from the United States, in a significant step towards fostering international academic collaboration.
The delegation represents various Historically significant Colleges, Universities, and Minority-Serving Institutions from the U.S., focusing on urban sustainability issues in India. GNDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Karmjeet Singh shared his views regarding Amritsar as a temporal seat of Sikhism and Sikhism as a religion Emphasising peace, Coexistence, Sustainability by giving due importance to environment. Golden temple, the holiest shrine is an architectural wonder and is an example of Sikh ethos of sharing and brotherhood and love of humanity.GNDU is a premier university of Amritsar established in the name of Sikh Guru Nanak Dev ji.
During his visit, Prof. Amarjeet Sawhney, Architect, Dade University Florida and other members of the US delegation met with officials of teaching, research & Innovation of the Guru Nanak Dev University. On reaching the Campus, the USA delegation was warmly recieved by Prof.Dr.Palwinder Singh Dean Academic Affairs and Prof. Dr. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Dean Student welfare.The other members of delegation includes Dr. (Mrs.) Jessica Barnes, North Arizona University, Dr. (Mrs.) Norris Delgado, St Uni Chicago, Dr. Nelson Andrew Stephen, Univ. Prof. Palwinder Singh, Dean Academic Affairs had open discussions with delegates gaining insights into their educational experiences.
Prof. Amarjeet Sawhney, Architect, Dade University Florida discussed about strengthening the university's ties with USA universities and institutes and fostering international relations. He said that will provide a platform for discussions and potential collaborations between the visiting faculty and GNDU representatives from various departments.
