Vice Chancellor Prof. Karamjeet Singh Celebrates Lohri with Guru Nanak Dev University Employees

AMRITSAR: The joyous festival of Lohri was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor at Guru Nanak Dev University campus in front Administration Block. Vice Chancellor Prof. Karamjeet Singh joined the non-teaching employees of the university to mark this auspicious occasion.

The Vice Chancellor ceremoniously lit the Lohri bonfire in the presence of Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar, Prof. Shalini Bahel, Professor Incharge, Col. Amarbir Singh Chahal, Security Officer and other officers. The event witnessed the participation of a large number of non-teaching employees, reflecting the vibrant and inclusive spirit of the GNDU community alongwith Mr. Rajneesh Bhardwaj, President, Mr. Rajinder Singh, Secretary and Mr. Aman Arora, President & Manpreet Singh Secretary.

Also present on the occasion were the executive committee members of the Non-Teaching Employees Association and Officers Association, who actively contributed to the success of the event. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by traditional Lohri songs and celebrations around the bonfire, symbolizing the joy and prosperity associated with this harvest festival.

Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof. Karamjeet Singh extended his warm wishes to all the employees and their families. He emphasized the importance of such celebrations in fostering a sense of belonging and unity within the university. Highlighting the contributions of the non-teaching staff, he stated, “Your dedication and hard work are the backbone of this institution. It is because of your efforts that GNDU continues to excel and maintain its esteemed reputation.”

On the demand raised by the Non-Teaching Employees Association for the construction of a Community Hall for the employees, the Vice Chancellor assured his full support. He stated, “The well-being and welfare of our employees remain a top priority. We will ensure that your demands are addressed promptly, and necessary steps will be taken to provide a Community Hall at the earliest.”

Employees expressed their gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries for their participation and for creating a platform to strengthen bonds within the university community. The both Associations honored Vice Chancellor Prof. Karamjeet Singh with model of Sri Darbar Sahib, Prof. Kahlon and Prof. Bahel were also honored.
