PATIALA: Centre for Advanced Studies in Labour Welfare (CASLW) RGNUL, Punjab under the Chief patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Jai Shankar Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Anand Pawar, Registrar organised an Academic Discourse on Human Resources Law and Career Opportunities in Labour Welfare.
The academic discourse witnessed multiple different perspectives of legislations in relation to labour laws and the extent to which the laws have been effective in practice.
The panel discussion witnessed valuable inputs from Mr. Ankur Dalal, Regional Labour Commissioner; Mr. Mahesh Panwar, Labour Enforcement Officer and Dr. Shiva Satish Sharda, Asst. Prof. of Law, RGNUL. Amongst the panelists, Mr. Ankur Dalal brought out the stark difference between labour laws in theory and practice followed by Mr. Mahesh Panwar who added on to the discourse by laying emphasis on the low level of awareness amongst employees with regard to the laws governing employment. With this set of extensive practical insights, Dr. Shiva Satish Sharda concluded the discourse with her valuable insights on the issue.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shiva Satish Sharda. The event was successfully coordinated by faculty coordinators Dr. Manpreet Kaur and Dr. Shiva Satish Sharda along with the members of Centre for Advanced Studies in Labour Welfare, RGNUL, Punjab.
