MOHALI: Roundglass Hockey Academy (RGHA) were crowned champions of the 8th SNBP All India Hockey Tournament Under-16 Boys, comfortably beating Army Boys Sports Company, Bengaluru 4-1 in the finals which was played at Balewadi Mahalunge in Pune. Arshdip Singh, Anurag Singh, Arjandeep Singh and Varinder Singh scored the goals for RGHA while Arjun scored the consolation goal for Army Boys.
RGHA were dominant throughout the tournament, beating Naval Tata Hockey Academy 4-1 and Regional Development Center 7-1 in the group stages. RGHA thrashed Don Bosco School 11-0 in the quarterfinals to qualify for the semifinals. Arjandeep Singh scored a hat trick while Varinder Singh and Anurag Singh scored a brace each. Abejit Singh, Jasmeet Singh, Abhay and Harshjot Singh scored the other goals.
In the semifinals, the team put in another dominant performance, overcoming Dhyanchand Academy 5-1 with Varinder Singh scoring a brace and Abhay, Amandeep and Abejit Singh scoring the other goals.
