Valtoha attacks Sikh high priests, says he has resigned from SAD at his own
AMRITSAR: The Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh after meeting of five Sikh high priests today ordered the Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) to expel former MLA Virsa Singh Valtoha from primary membership of party for ten years for issuing threats to Akal Takht Jathedar and violating the Sikh maryada.

Virsa Singh Valtoha was today summoned by Akal Takht to get evidence of his public allegations that Akal Takht Jathedar was under pressure from RSS and BJP to expel Sukhbir Singh Badal from SAD. After the meeting with high priests Valtoha reiterated his allegations and said that Giani Harpreet Singh Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib was directly in touch with Amit Shah and BJP leaders.

Akal Takht Jathedar said that Valtoha had visited him a few days back and threatened him for consequences for taking action against Sukhbir Badal. It is pertinent to mention that Akal Takht had already declared Sukhbir Badal a 'Tankhahia'( guilty of religious misconduct) and final decision on him is pending. Sukhbir Badal had submitted his reply to Akal Takht.

Valtoha said that he didn't want to put his party in crisis and decided to resign himself from the party. He said that he would expose the Sikh high priests.

SAD however has not expelled Virsa Singh Valtoha in violation of Akal Takht Jathedar. Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh said that Valtoha had recorded the conversation with him without his permission.
