MOHALI: Palvinder Singh Saini of Maharashtra bagged the title of Strongman of India-2024 and Rashmi Jizilwar also of Maharashtra got the title of Strongwoman of India-2024 at the National Powerlifting Competition.
The 3-day competition was organised by National Powerlifting Federation in collaboration with Punjabi Powerlifting and Fitness Association at the Rayat Bahra University.
The competition was inaugurated by RBU Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra and over 250 participants from 21 states took part.
Inderpal Singh Sabharwal, Deputy Senior Advocate General of Punjab, was the Chief Guest. Amarjit Singh, General Secretary of Punjabi Powerlifting Association, and Monu Sabharwal were present among others at the inaugural ceremony.
Dilbag of Punjab bagged the title of Strong Master Man of India-2024 while Dimple M Mehta of Maharashtra was adjudged Strong Master Woman of India-2024. She also bagged the title of Super Woman of India-2024.
Neerav of Punjab was adjudged Strong Teen Boy of India-2024 and Vidhi Gaonkar of Goa was declared Strong Teen Girl of India-2024.
Jobandeep Singh of Punjab got the title of Strong Boy of India-2024 and Tanvi S Rahate of Maharashtra was declared Strong Girl of India-2024.
Dr Mahesh Jetly, Director of Sports of RBU, said Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra gave away prizes to the winners.
