10,000 RT-PCR tests to be ensured in Punjab schools daily, orders Vini Mahajan

CHANDIGARH: In order to ensure that the Covid situation remains under control and the deadly virus could not spread again in the state, the Chief Secretary, Ms Vini Mahajan, directed the departments concerned to step up RT-PCR testing and to conduct atleast 10,000 RT-PCR tests related to schools daily and the DCs to ensure that only fully vaccinated teaching and non-teaching staff was allowed to attend the schools.

Punjab schools set to reopen on August 2 for all classes: Vijay Inder Singla

CHANDIGARH: Punjab school education minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, on Sunday, said that following the approval of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in view of the present Covid situation, the education department is all set to reopen schools for all classes from August 2 onwards.

136 Teams of special monitoring cell conduct raids in 1045 Punjab schools

CHANDIGARH : On the directions of Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister Punjab, 136 Special teams of the Education Department conducted surprise checks in 1045 Schools of the State with the aim of ensuring punctuality and discipline in the Schools. Three Circles namely Jalandhar, Faridkot and Nabha (Patiala) were visited by the special teams at the same time.

Preparatory leaves for all classes in Punjab Schools: Vijay Inder Singla

CHANDIGARH/MOHALI: The Department of School Education, Punjab, keeping in view the present surge in COVID-19, has declared preparatory leaves for all classes in government, government aided and private schools, said the School Education Minister, Vijay Inder Singla.

Punjab schools timing to change from Feb 22

CHANDIGARH: Punjab School Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, on Friday, said that the education department has changed timings of the Government, Aided and Private schools in the state which would take effect from February 22, 2021 onwards. Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that from Monday onwards, the timings of the Primary schools would be from 9 AM-3 PM while those of the Middle/High/Senior Secondary schools would be from 9 AM-3:20 PM.
