Cycle rally held to mark independence day focuses on environment and health issues

CHANDIGARH: With a view to propagate the message of environment conservation enshrined in our constitution besides creating awareness about environmental & health related issues and seek people`s participation to keep their surrounding clean & green, a cycle rally was organized by Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC), Punjab under Mission Tandrust Punjab on the occasion of Independence Day.

Independence Day celebrated at Vet varsity Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: 75th Independence Day was celebrated at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana with great enthusiasm. Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice–Chancellor, GADVASU unfurled the National Flag in the University premises. Dr. Singh, firstly paid rich tributes to all those who fought for country’s freedom. He said that we all must remember and salute them. The function of Independence Day was dedicated to 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav-75 years of Independence'.

PATIALA: Punjab Local Bodies, Parliamentary Affairs, Elections and Grievance Redressal Minister Mr Brahm Mohindra, today, hoisted the National Flag at Raja Bhalindra Singh Sports Complex (Polo Ground) in Patiala on the occasion of 75th Independence Day. CHANDIGARH: Recognising the outstanding services of the Punjab Police, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India (GOI), on the eve of 75th Independence Day, announced the names of the Punjab Police officers/officials, to be awarded with Police Medal of Gallantry (PMG), President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPMDS) and Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PMMS).

A full dress rehearsal will be held on August 13 in connection with the Independence Day celebrations

GURDASPUR:A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Rahul Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-G) Gurdaspur with the officers of all the departments at the Panchayat Bhawan on the occasion of Independence Day and all the officers were instructed to follow the instructions issued by the government. Timely preparations for the event should be completed.
