Morni hills in Haryana being developed as major tourism spot

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Education and Tourism Minister, Mr. Kanwar Pal said that the Morni area is being developed as a tourist spot and it is coming up with a wide array of facilities for tourists.

Kanwar Pal said this in response to a question raised in the Vidhan Sabha today on the first day of the second part of the Monsoon Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha.

The Tourism Minister said that a well-organized tourist complex named Morni Mountain Quail has been developed by Haryana Tourism Corporation, with facilities of guest rooms, restaurants, lobbies, terraces, conference rooms etc.  It is emerging as a famous tourist destination in the Morni Hills area.

The Tourism Minister said that Tikkar Tal Tourist Complex has also been developed by the Department of Tourism in Morni, which has facilities of rooms, cafeterias, dining rooms, camping sites, viewing decks, etc.

 Replying to another question, Education Minister, Mr. Kanwar Pal said that Law Colleges are presently functional within a radius of about 40 km in the state.  The Law Colleges are at Ambala, Baban, Barwala etc. around Bilaspur or Yamunanagar.

Apart from this, 15 universities and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Rai (Sonipat) are running in the state.
