CHANDIGARH: Haryana on Wednesday supplied a record 2661 lakh units with record maximum demand of 12039 MW in the state. With hot weather and a delayed monsoon, the power demand in Haryana has shot up due to hot weather conditions prevailing in the State and the sowing of paddy
, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam have supplied an all-time record of 2661 lakh units (LU) of power
with a maximum load of 12039 MW. For the first time, the state load crossed 12000 MW.
Earlier this month on July 2, the utilities supplied 2576 lakh units with a maximum demand of 11732 MW.
On Wednesday, Haryana supplied power between 9952 MW to 12039 MW during the day, as per the NRLDC website.
The thermal plants in the state supplied 661 lakh units. Today both thermal units at Yamunanagar, two units of Panipat thermal and one unit in Khedar (Hissar) are generating power in the state sector. In the private sector, both units of CLP at Jhajjar are generating power.

Despite supplying maximum power this summer, the unscheduled power cuts are also being imposed in rural and small towns of varying times across the state. The burning of overloaded transformers also leads to unscheduled long power cuts in that area.
