Kaithal 's Yogesh Bahadur Khurania appointed Odisha DGP, jubiliation in the town

KAITHAL: Kaithal's promising yogesh Bahadur Khurania has recently been appointed DGP Odisha . Grandson of late Amar Nath Khurania, son of Mohan Bahadur Khurania Advocate, nephew of Jagdish Bahadur Khurania Advocate and Ram Bahadur Khurania , brother of the city's famous advocate Arvind Khurania. The senior cop has demonstrated that dedication, devotion and hard work are always rewarded as he assumed charge as DGP Odisha.

He has brought glory to Haryana state including Kaithal across the country. The name of Khurania family is counted among the prestigious families in Kaithal Town. As soon as the news of appointment of Yogesh Bahadur Khurania of Khurania family as DGP reached in the city. there was a rush of well-wishers, friends and relatives to wish the Khurania family. There was a festive atmosphere in the Khurania family due to the influx of people congratulating the Khurania family.

On this occasion everyone was busy sharing their happiness. On this occasion, Yogesh Bahadur Khurania's uncle Advocate Jagdish Bahadur Khurania and Ram Bahadur Khurania said that Yogesh Bahadur Khurania is a decorated officer, he has received many commendations and awards including Governor's Medal and President's Police Medal for meritorious service.
Odisha government on Friday appointed 1990 batch I.P.S. Officer Y.B. Khurania was as the 38th Director General of Police. Khurania will replace Arun Kumar Sarangi, who served as the chief of the state police force from December 2023 till date . The appointment came days after the Center approved premature repatriation of Khurania, serving as Special Director General of the Border Security Force, to his parent cadre Odisha with immediate effect.

A decorated officer who has received several commendations and awards including the Governor's Medal for Meritorious Service and the President's Police Medal, Khurania has served as Superintendent of Police in Rourkela, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam and several other districts of Odisha.

He also served as Range DIG/IG of Central Range, Southern Range and Northern Range. Additionally, he served as Inspector General of Anti-Maoist Operations, Commissioner of Police of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and Special Director of State Vigilance. Khurania in 2018 as I.G. Joined BSF as Frontier Headquarters, South Bengal and was promoted as Special Director General (Western Command) as of July 2021. It is noteworthy that Yogesh Bahadur Khurania.

Before being posted as Special Director General, BSF, Western Command, had also served as Special Director General (Operations) at BSF Headquarters, New Delhi . Yogesh Bahadur Khurania had arrested Bajrang Dal activist Dara Singh, convicted in the brutal murder of Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two sons in Baripada, when he was serving as the SP of Mayurbhanj .Additionally, Khurania had arrested dreaded gangster Dhala Samant brothers Sushant and Sushil Dhala Samant, also known as the 'D-Brothers', in January 2016 when he was the police commissioner of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police.

Khurania has received several commendations and awards during his service career, including the Governor's Medal and the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
