SHIMLA: HPSEB employees and engineers have decided to intensify the protest as the management is reluctant to issues raised by them and as they will be holding demonstrations and rallies throughout the state from Monday October 28 .
Joint front of HPSEBL employees and engineers held its meeting today and decided to intensify the agitation. Lokesh Thakur convenor said that the main demand is restoration of all 51 posts of engineering cadre abolished on October 16 and to withdraw retrenchment order of 81 nos. outsourced staff against the post of drivers working for the last 10 to 12 years.
Hira Lal Verma co-convenor said that other demands included implementation of the old pension scheme , to adhere to the provisions of bipartite agreement, initiate the selection process for 1030 posts of team mates and other vacant posts.
Laxman Kapta co-convenor said that all the pending pension and salary arrears as per 7th pay commission.
Front meeting hopes that the state government and state electricity board should come forward to solve the above problems to maintain industrial peace. Otherwise the joint front will be compelled further to intensify agitation.
Lokesh Thakur convener of joint front that all decisions are being taken without consulting the engineers and other employees. The abolition of these posts will severely affect the functioning of the board.
At present employees are on work to rule.
